Cheap, good, fast service, what's not to like! They even do mental math at the end. The duck was actually so tender and soft even tho it looks a lil dry in pics, snails were good, and the beef tongue also tender. Sausage good, salad good, wine was cheap and u can tell. Casual but the place is super pretty. Go early or super late bc the line gets crazy

It's not the greatest french food but you cannot beat the value!! Definitely try if you need to save some cash. 12 euro for steak frites!!

I have a new appreciation for french fries after this meal. These are one of my favorite types of fries: crisp on the outside but really soft and warm in the center. These are the perfect types of fries to sop up all of the blood from the meat mixed with the creamy pepper sauce This meal was super filling and I cleaned my plate with these fries. The oeuf mayonnaise (for those who don't know hehe) is a hard-boiled egg with mayonnaise. Yea right? A little wack right? Wrong. It changed me. I loved it. It only sounds wack because picture a hard-boiled egg with like some shitty ass mayo because we live in America but this is the EUROPEAN stuff so it's way better. I'm glad I tried it.

While in Paris on vacation, my wife and I and our two small dogs went to Bouillon Chartier for lunch. The place is well known, it's all drop-in (no reservations) When we went there was a long line. Luckily when we went there wasn't a long wait in line because they seated smaller parties first. There seems to be one wide open dining room with a several servers which handle different sectors of tables. Our server got us an English menu and took down our order on plastic table cloth (there was nothing written down or entered into an electronic system) In my observation, it seems as though the servers go to the kitchen to get items and bring them to a reception desk where they scan a card and someone at the desk I'm guessing does some internal tallying. I'm guessing some items take longer than others but we had a duck confit, a side salad and an order of 12 snails/escargot. The duck confit was very flavorful as were the escargot which went really well with the bread they provided. I've had escargot before but nothing as fresh as this before. We didn't order too much because we had a lot of eating on the trip. We had room for dessert and had the rice pudding and egg custard with caramel. They serve a lot of people during the lunch rush, turning around the tables multiple times. I appreciated the service we got from our server. As places in Paris go, the prices were reasonable and it sounded like this place prices itself in being available to most people and residents, and not just something exclusive to the rich or tourists. Great experience!

Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Bang for a buck. Steak with fries: 4/5 Duck confit: 4/5 Escargot: 4/5 I decided to try this place after seeing a good number of people in line. When I arrived, there were about 15 people ahead of me, but I only had to wait around 10 minutes. I ordered the steak and fries as well as the duck confit. Oh and also escargot for appetizers. All dishes were on the light salt but still decent, offering good value for the price. I'd definitely come back.

Don't set your expectations too high, I liked this restaurant for the location, the look, and the helpful services but my meal was ok, the order my GF got she really enjoyed. A friend recommended this place to us, on a Tuesday for lunch there was a pretty big line but since we were a party of two we were seated in about 15 minutes at another table right next/with a party of four. I appreciate based on how busy it was that they find ways to maximize seating so people can get in and out. We were pretty hungry so finding a place where we didn't have to put in a reservation or wait over an hour was perfect for me. Our server was very helpful with our questions, and everything came out fast and just as we ordered it.
